Q: What is Care For People?
A: Care For People Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider (NDIS Provider No. 4050147957). We hold NDIS registration and partner with care providers, independent support workers, and allied health professionals through a licensing / Provider Partner model — so they can deliver fully registered, compliant NDIS services under our registration.
Q: Is Care For People a registered NDIS provider?
A: Yes. Care For People is a registered NDIS provider, audited against the NDIS Practice Standards by an approved quality auditor and recognised by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Registered Australia-wide.
Q: What areas does Care For People cover?
A: We work with Agency Managed participants across Australia, spanning 13 NDIS service registration groups (core supports, allied health, support coordination, and accommodation-related supports).
Q: How do I contact Care For People?
A: Email manager@careforpeopleinc.com.au or call 0475 898 632. Office: Level 1/ 457-459 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010.
For Participants
Q: Can I keep my current support worker if my NDIS plan becomes Agency Managed?
A: Yes. If your plan moves to Agency Managed, you can usually keep the workers you trust — Care For People onboards your worker or provider as a Provider Partner so they deliver your supports under our NDIS registration. Same faces, now fully registered, no disruption to your care.
Q: My provider isn't NDIS registered — can they still support me on an Agency Managed plan?
A: Agency Managed supports can only be claimed by a registered provider. Care For People lets your unregistered provider or independent worker deliver to you legally by working under our registration as a Provider Partner.
Q: Do I have to change support workers to use Care For People?
A: No. The whole point is continuity — you keep your existing workers; we register them under our provider licence so nothing about your day-to-day support changes.
Q: What does it cost a participant to use Care For People?
A: Your supports are delivered under your NDIS plan funding at NDIS price limits — NDIS supports are GST-free. Contact us for specifics about your situation.
Q: How do I start with Care For People as a participant?
A: Tell us about your current worker/provider (or the support you're looking for), sign one simple service agreement with Care For People, we complete the compliance checks, and your supports continue as fully registered NDIS services.
For Provider Partners
★Q: How and when do I get paid for my bulk uploads? (Payment timing — cl 7.3)
A: Completing a shift is not the same as completing a bulk upload. Your work only becomes a claim once you submit your Bulk Upload File through the partner portal — nothing is lodged or paid until that form is submitted. So the payment clock starts when the bulk upload is submitted, not when the shift is worked. Once you submit your weekly Bulk Upload File, Care For People lodges the claim to the NDIS portal. After the NDIA releases payment to Care For People — typically within 1–3 business days of lodgement — your 89% share (Care For People retains an 11% licensing fee) is transferred by EFT to your nominated bank account within 5 business days of Care For People receiving the funds. Cancellations and error corrections can be made at any time, but may take up to 10 working days to process and reconcile against the NDIS.
★Q: The agreement says I must have 'multi-source income' (cl 2.3) — what does that mean, and does it change if I have only one participant?
A: In plain English: cl 2.3 asks you to keep running your own independent business, market to and service your own clients, and not rely on Care For People as your sole or main source of income. It exists to keep our relationship a genuine independent-contractor arrangement, not disguised employment, and it protects both of us against payroll tax, superannuation guarantee, and sham-contracting exposure under Australian law. Importantly, it is about where your INCOME comes from, not how many NDIS participants you support through us, so it does NOT change whether you have 1 participant or 100. A partner with one participant through Care For People but other income (private work, another job, another industry) already satisfies the clause. The clause only becomes a concern if Care For People is your sole or overwhelmingly main income, which is a tax/legal risk Care For People cannot carry, so it can't simply be switched off. If you are a new partner still building your book, talk to the Director about your situation and any documented arrangements.
★Q: Can our company directors also deliver supports, and do they count as 'personnel' under the agreement? (Clause 21 — Authorised Personnel, No Subcontracting & Employee Compliance)
A: Yes. Clause 21 covers every person who delivers, or assists in delivering, supports under our registration — employee, contractor, officer or other personnel — so a director who delivers supports must be listed on the Partner Compliance Check and cleared by Care For People before they start, exactly the same as any worker. Each listed person completes their own CFP Employee Onboarding and holds their own individual compliance: NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate, identity verification, relevant qualifications, and Working With Children Check where applicable. Company-level insurances (Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, accident insurance) cover everyone and do not need to be duplicated per person. No one may deliver a single shift until they are listed and cleared, work may only be done by the Licensee's own listed personnel (no subcontracting, sub-letting, assignment or on-supply to third parties), and the Licensee must notify Care For People in writing within 7 days before any new person commences. How the partner engages its own people — whether directors are employees, officers or contractors — is the partner's own company structure and its own decision. Care For People, under the Licensee Agreement, is not responsible for the partner's superannuation, tax, payroll tax, workers compensation or any employment-law obligations either way; those sit with the partner company. What Care For People requires is simply that whoever delivers the supports is listed, individually cleared, and works only for the Licensee's own company.
★Q: Why might Care For People hold back a small percentage of my payments (retention / security reserve), and can it be set to 0% for a Pty Ltd company? (cl 14.3 & Schedule 3)
A: In easy-read terms: sometimes the NDIS asks for money back, even years after a support was delivered. This is called a clawback. Because your supports go out under Care For People's NDIS registration, the NDIA comes to Care For People for that repayment, not to you, so Care For People must have a way to cover it if it happens. The agreement (cl 14.3 + Schedule 3) lets Care For People secure that risk in one of three ways: hold back a small percentage of each payment (called a retention), hold a one-off bond, or require run-off insurance cover. This is NOT Care For People keeping your money, any held amount is released back to you (usually after a clean period or when the agreement ends) unless a clawback uses it. For a Pty Ltd company, Care For People applies the tiered policy shown in the table below: 0% retention up to $350k a year through CFP (full 89% share) provided you hold Professional Indemnity with run-off / tail cover; 5% on the amount above $350k up to $1M; and 5% (capped) plus a director personal guarantee once turnover passes $1M. Care For People applies this to protect against NDIS rule changes and repayment requests that Care For People would otherwise carry alone, it is a safety net, not an extra fee.
| Annual turnover through CFP | Retention | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| $0 – $350k / yr | 0% (full 89% share) | Run-off Professional Indemnity cover required |
| $350k – $1M / yr | 5% on the amount above $350k | Run-off Professional Indemnity cover required |
| $1M+ / yr | 5% (capped) | Run-off PI cover + director personal guarantee |
★Q: Why must I send Care For People copies of participant care plans and incident reports, and how do I do that? (Clinical documentation expectation)
A: First, the simple version: any mandated report — a Behaviour Support Plan, an Interim Behaviour Support Plan, or an NDIS incident report — is technically the responsibility of the practitioner who creates it, not Care For People. Care For People is the registered provider, but the actual writing, signing and lodging of those clinical documents stays with the qualified practitioner / Provider Partner who did the work. In full: because your supports go out under Care For People's NDIS registration, we must be able to sight participant care plans and any incident reports when compliance requires it. There are two easy ways to make sure we have them, and you only need to use one: (1) CC director@careforpeopleinc.com.au into the care plan or incident report when you create it; or (2) upload the document on the bulk upload page at the same time you submit your payment request, where there is a dedicated clinical documents upload field. Doing this keeps your participant's records and your payment request together in one place. Failure to do this is the Provider Partner's (the practitioner's) responsibility. If a document is needed at a particular time, you can also supply it on request when asked, and it will still be accepted.
★Q: My Provider Partner / Licence Agreement is marked interim — what does that mean, how long does it last, and do I need to re-sign when it's approved?
A: When you sign up as a Provider Partner, your Licence Agreement starts as interim while Care For People verifies the compliance items you submitted in your Partner Compliance Check — your insurances (Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, etc.), NDIS Worker Screening clearance, identity, qualifications and other required documents. This interim period generally takes up to 10 working days for Care For People to process before an outcome is reached. You receive an email confirming your compliance check was received and explaining the interim period as soon as you submit it. No re-signing is required: once Care For People approves your compliance, your licence simply moves from interim to approved (the same agreement terms stand) and you are emailed the outcome. If anything needs clarifying during the check, the Director contacts you directly. If you have not heard back by the 10 working day mark, Care For People is automatically reminded to follow up. If any compliance items are not passed, you are emailed a 'sorry, your compliance check was not approved' message that lists exactly what was not passed (the Director's note), so you can resolve those items and re-submit a fresh compliance check — and once those items are cleared, your licence moves from interim to approved with no re-signing required.
Q: Can an unregistered provider work with Agency Managed NDIS participants?
A: Not directly — only a registered provider can claim for Agency Managed participants. By licensing under Care For People as a Provider Partner, an unregistered provider or independent worker can legally deliver to, and invoice for, Agency Managed participants from day one — under our registration.
Q: How is licensing under Care For People different from getting my own NDIS registration?
A: Your own registration can take many months and a full certification audit. Licensing as a Provider Partner lets you deliver under our registration now, keep your own business, brand and clients, while we carry the registration-holder compliance and audit load. You can still pursue your own registration later.
Q: Do I keep my own business and clients as a Provider Partner?
A: Yes. You keep your business identity, your brand, your team and your clients. You deliver under our NDIS registration; we handle registration-holder oversight.
Q: What types of providers can become Care For People Provider Partners?
A: Support businesses, independent support workers, and allied health professionals (e.g. OT, physio, speech pathology, psychology, nursing).
Q: How do I become a Care For People Provider Partner?
A: Enquire and tell us about your business; we review your supports, team and qualifications; you sign the Provider Partner Agreement and company licence; then you start delivering fully registered NDIS services under our registration.
